I had the unique pleasure to experience an art performance
piece the other night in Montclair. This was not “performance art” the was
a performance of art. Where in artist Jennifer
Levine working with her collaborator and partner Scott Massarsky create
music and pictures. It seems Scott writes the songs and creates a template on a
canvas while Jennifer adds color, free form images and vocal styling’s.
Together with Matt and Matt they create musical tapestry with a finished
masterpiece at the end. Calling
their collaboration “Painting
a Song” Massarsky and Levine add wit and whimsy to something that might
otherwise not lend itself to live stage performance.

I look forward to seeing more from this duo in the near future.
